Reading Intervention

Building Reading Skills, Growing Confidence

At Bloom Therapy Co., we help children develop the literacy skills and confidence they need to grow as readers. Our individualized Reading Intervention services build on each child’s strengths while providing targeted instruction in areas where they need additional support.

We meet learners where they are, with a supportive approach that respects their learning needs, interests, and pace.

Who We Support

Our services support:

  • Children developing foundational reading skills

  • Students experiencing reading delays or difficulties

  • Learners with diagnosed or suspected learning differences, including dyslexia

  • Children who need support with decoding, word recognition, fluency, comprehension, or vocabulary

  • Students who find reading frustrating or feel less confident in their abilities

What We Focus On

Depending on your child’s needs, targeted instruction may include:

  • Phonological and phonemic awareness: Recognizing and working with sounds in spoken language

  • Phonics and decoding: Connecting letters with sounds and using these patterns to read words

  • Word recognition and spelling: Building accuracy and familiarity with words and spelling patterns

  • Reading fluency: Developing accurate, increasingly comfortable and expressive reading

  • Reading comprehension: Understanding, discussing, and making connections to what is read

  • Vocabulary development: Learning word meanings to support understanding and communication

How It Works

Understanding Your Child

We begin with an intake consultation and assessment of relevant literacy skills to learn about your child’s strengths, areas of difficulty, and your family’s priorities. With your consent, we can also review information from school or other professionals.

An Individualized Learning Plan

We develop a plan with clear, achievable goals. Sessions incorporate explicit, systematic instruction, guided practice, and activities that connect with your child’s interests and support engagement.

Ongoing Teaching and Progress Monitoring

We monitor progress and adjust instruction as your child’s skills develop. Families receive updates about learning goals, progress, and practical ways to support reading at home.

More Than Reading Skills

Reading can open doors to learning, independence, and enjoyment. When reading feels difficult, the right support can help children experience success and feel more willing to try.

At Bloom Therapy Co., we celebrate meaningful progress—whether that means blending a first word, understanding a story, or choosing to pick up a book.
